The forests in the Philippines are critical to protecting against natural disasters, providing a rich habitat for rare animal and plant species, and ensuring clean water and air for surrounding communities. Unfortunately, these valuable areas are in danger – Philippines forests rank as the fourth most threatened in the world, with only 7 percent of their habitat remaining.
In partnership with the Haribon Foundation’s Reforestation Organizations and Advocates (ROAD) to 2020 campaign, Mead Johnson is helping to replenish these valuable ecosystems across the Philippines’ many provinces. We have been donating native seedlings to support reforestation efforts since we first started working with Haribon in 2005. This past July, 70 Mead Johnson employees and business partners planted 1,400 trees in Laguna Province.
Of course, helping protect the environment is just one way Mead Johnson gives back to the community in the Philippines. Our other significant CSR effort involves combating malnutrition through our “Feeding Hope” program, which provides healthy eating information and nutritional products for at-risk children.
